Mitsubishi Malaysia issues recall for 2,083 cars

Mitsubishi ASX

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has announced a recall for 2,083 Mitsubishi vehicles sold in Malaysia ranging from the Airtrek, Colt, Lancer, Lancer Evolution, Grandis and Outlander that were manufactured before 14th March 2008. This initiative is necessary to undertake checks on light switches and to replace affected parts if necessary.

Due to the structure of the printed circuit board of lighting switches, cracks could occur and cause turn the signal and headlamp to malfunction over time. Affected lights could blink, flicker or not turn on or stay on, said MMM in a statement.

MMM will issue notification letters to affected Mitsubishi owners and the full cost of the inspection and repair (if required) will be borne by the company.

Hence, MMM requests their customers to make an appointment at any Mitsubishi Motors authorized service centres for the inspection and/or replacement of the above which will take approximately an hour. This permanent fix is to ensure the safety aspect of affected Mitsubishi vehicles is not diminished.
