Sixteen-year-old Max Verstappen has certainly rocked the motorsports world by becoming the youngest driver in Formula One. The multitalented Dutch teenager, who just signed a deal with Red Bull’s feeder team, Toro Rosso, was eager to display his skills to his fellow kinsmen at a street demo during a Formula One roadshow at Rotterdam. Unfortunately, the demo didn’t end well as he crashed the 2007-spec STR7 into the barriers as seen on the video here.

“No excuses. I’m guilty. I was late with the clutch in the anti-stall system” admits Verstappen. “It’s a learning process. But after everything, this is what I’ve always wanted — to drive a Formula One car.”

Not the best of starts for the young Dutchman, so let’s hope he fares better in the actual race. Then again, while many teenagers his age can only drive an F1 car in a video game, this teenager has already driven the real deal and pranged one as well!
