Bell & Ross B-Rocket airplane-bike makes its debut in Malaysia

It has to be the most outlandish and unbelievable thing on two-wheels ever seen here in Malaysia, and it’s not just a display model! Commissioned by watchmaker Bell & Ross and built by Shaw Harley-Davidson, the Bell & Ross B-Rocket was conceptualised to commemorate the launch of two Bell & Ross watches, namely the BR-01 and BR-03 (below).

The B-Rocket is based on a Harley-Davidson Softail Blackline FXS, which features a typical V-Twin 1,584cc engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bodywork however, is heavily modified with aeronautics and aerodynamics in mind, allowing the B-Rocket to achieve speeds in access of 200kmh on the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats.

Its bodywork is inspired by 60’s jet-fighter planes, and while it’s just a neo-concept one-off, it’s still a working model. Regarded as ‘dream airplane-motorcycle’, it features a conical jet-nose which is meant to slice through the air. Even its ‘cabin’, rear fin and side propulsion-turbines are jet-fighter inspired.

Weighing in at a hefty 350kg, the B-Rocket is a mere 44in tall, 31in wide, but a whole 108in long. It features 21in wheels shod with Avon Speedmaster tyres, and ‘mooneyes’ wheel covers. Modified HD rocker arms and Paughco forks are utilised, as well as a custom Shaw Speed exhaust system; and no, we did not get to ride it, but it will remain on display at the Bell & Ross Boutique in Pavilion shopping mall, Lot 3.46.00 till September 17th.
