The organisers of the TimeToAttack series has just sent a notification that the round 2 event has been cancelled due to the poor weather condition (haze) during the fasting month.
In light of the recent dry weather that has brought along with it the haze, key partners and participants have raised concerns about potential health hazards should the event be resumed next Sunday. This is especially significant to the Muslim participants at the time as it will be 6 days into the Ramadan fasting month should the event resume.
We’ve ever had an eventful round of TIMETOATTACK 2012 held during the Ramadan that had garnered 100% participation with substantial Muslim entries who were extremely supportive and passionate despite having to fast under the scorching sun. But with the recent weather forecasts, I for one am concerned that, with the addition of the choking hazy air, would be too unbearable for enjoyment let alone the health of all participants and visitors.
Therefore, it is with complete certainty that we announce 2014′s July 06′s TIMETOATTACK Round 2 to be postponed indefinitely pending further availability from Sepang International Circuit. Nevertheless, November 2014′s TIMETOATTACK Round remains firm.
As a participant of the 1st round of TimeToAttack in April 2014 as well, I was looking forward to supporting my friends who were planning on participating in the 2nd round. I do hope that they manage to get another date from Sepang (as I do know that the circuit is normally booked up to 1.5 years ahead).
