The “Avanza”, co-developed by Toyota and Daihatsu, first went on sale in Indonesia in December 2003 (also known as the Daihatsu “Xenia”). Exports began in 2004, and it wasn’t long before the Avanza came to be known and loved by customers around the world. Exports from Indonesia to the Middle East have started, and the Avanza is now sold in a total of 45 countries.

Looks like Proton will continue to also get stiff competition when targeting the Middle East Market.
