A 21-year old man was arrested by the British Police after he was caught gatecrashing an ongoing car race at Brands Hatch, in a normal Volkswagen Polo. The Volkswagen Fun Day was being held at the track last weekend, and the Beetle endurance race was in progress when the incident took place.
The driver, Jack Cottle, together with his girlfriend and a male friend as passengers, drove the white Polo belonging to his girlfriend. They bypassed the circuit’s pitlane before joining the race action. His frightened girlfriend protested Cottle’s dangerous actions which could get them killed, but he ignored it. The race was immediately stopped and all cars left the circuit.

Fortunately, justice prevailed as the Kent Police announced the offender was arrested last Monday and remains in police custody. The foolish Cottle was quoted “You only live once and I live every day like its my last”. Cottle, we hope you always retain your “you only live once” spirit, in the prison that is.
