As rumours start to float around as well as sightings of the actual car at JPJ start to spread around, the Volkswagen Golf R Mk6 which is currently on sale here in Malaysia is actually a detuned version. Locally we get a 251bhp version but the rests of the world gets a 265bhp version.
I guess the same can be predicted for the latest Golf R Mk7 as our neighbours down south are advertising a 280bhp version compared to the 296bhp version sold in Europe.
Due to the high humidity that we face here in Malaysia, I guess fans of the Golf R has to make do with only 280bhp.
