Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia has announced a recall for 2,200 Mitsubishi Triton LITE Turbo trucks sold from April 2012 to December 2013.

Although there have not been any accidents reported in Malaysia as of today, this exercise was necessary to undertake a preventive and safety measure to replace the crankshaft pulley bolt and re-tighten according to specification.

Therefore, MMM is recalling the affected customers for a replacement service, and the full cost will be borne by Mitsubishi Motors. The replacement will only take an hour and customers must first make an appointment at the nearest Mitsubishi Motors authorised service centre.

“We apologise to our customers and regret the inconvenience caused by this predicament. It is our priority to put our customer’s safety first without compromising the quality of the product we offer,” said Mr. Tetsuya Oda, Chief Executive Officer of MMM in a statement.
