F1: Hamilton targets first F1 win in Bahrain

After being victorious in Malaysia, Lewis Hamilton has set his sights on his first win in the Bahrain GP this weekend. The track in Sakhir which is located in the middle of the desert is not the track where Hamilton is strong at, as he had only scored two podiums in Bahrain – second during his debut year in 2007 and third in 2010.

“It was great to kick-start my season with a win in Malaysia. Taking a one-two was also a fantastic result for the team and I can’t wait to see what we can do in Bahrain,” said Hamilton.

“I’ve finished on the podium here a couple of times here but, for one reason or another, I’ve never managed to get the win. Until last week it was the same story for me with Malaysia, so fingers crossed this can be the year of breaking those cycles!” he added.

However understandably he knows his rivals will fight back “We know it’s going to be tough to maintain our current form, particularly at a circuit where every team has had so much running time over the winter, but I’ll be pushing hard to keep those results coming,”

The Brit has also scored his first victory in Sepang last week so he is hoping he will repeat the same feat in Bahrain this weekend. We’ll find out if the Merc domination will continue in a couple of days!
