Baby Bentley planned for 2020

Bentley-6[2]

Bentley is planning to broaden its model range with an introduction of the fifth model by the end of the decade, which will be built at the company’s Crewe UK headquarters.

According to an interview with Bentley Sales and Marketing boss Kevin Rose at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the car was planned for 2019 at the earliest, after the launch of the Bentley SUV and next-generation Continental GT and Flying Spur and the company is considering an even smaller model than it has today. A subcompact Bentley perhaps?

The statement adds that although a smaller production vehicle is being studied, it doesn’t necessarily mean cheaper as the brand’s main pillars are performance and luxury.

It is also part of a larger scheme to “do something genuinely new” through the unique placement of the brand, and this could also mean that the creation of a car even more expensive and exclusive than the current Mulsanne, potentially positioning this Bentley an alternative to a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
