Ken Block releases exclusive footage from his car crash at LSPR (+video)

Ken Block has released video footage of his catastrophic crash that took place in November last year at the Lake Superior Performance Rally.

The crash happened because he didn’t mark the tightening corner correctly in his pace notes. Whilst driving at 160kmh, Ken Block and his team mate Alex Gelsomino ended up cart wheeling down one of the final stages of the season, end over end, before coming to a stop against a tree. The missing “in” in his pace notes allowed Block to go slightly wide around a very safe looking corner where his rear wheel went into the weeds and got caught up on a small clump of dirt, sending the Ford Fiesta HFHV into the air. While the crash was brutal, the pair were fortunate to walk away from the championship-ending incident alive with no major injury.

While no one knows how many times Ken Block rolled his rally car, this massive crash is possibly one of the most violent crashes that ended his Rally America season, and his shot at winning the championship.
