Volvo Car Malaysia, in partnership with its authorised dealer, Clear Marque Sdn Bhd, and Go Sportz Sdn Bhd, the organisers of the RHB-Shimano Highway Ride have launched the Volvo Life Paint.
The launch was held in conjunction with the RHB-Shimano Highway Ride – a night cycling event which sees the participation of over 3,000 cyclists from 16 countries. The event presents a perfect opportunity to demonstrate Volvo’s innovative technologies, developed to increase the safety of cyclists on our local roads.
The highlight of the cycling event was the launch of Volvo Life Paint. Made in collaboration with Albedo 100, it is a unique water-based reflective spray that is invisible by daylight but glows brightly under the direct glare of car headlights, increasing the visibility of cyclists at night.
The Life Paint works best on textiles where you can it apply to clothes, shoes, helmets, pushchairs and children’s backpacks – even dog leads and collars. It could be washed off with just soap and water, and will not affect the colour or surface of the chosen material. It will last for approximately one week after application, depending on what surface it is sprayed on and how much was applied.
Lennart Stegland, the Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, pointed out that road safety at Volvo is not only limited to making cars safer but great emphasis is also put on improving the safety of all other road users, in line with Volvo’s overall safety philosophy.
“Volvo Life Paint is a great complement to the other active safety systems that are already available in our model range – an excellent example of this is the Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection System which automatically detects and avoids collisions with pedestrians or cyclists,” said Stegland.
Together with Volvo Life Paint, Volvo Malaysia also launched the Volvo V40 Adventure Package which features useful accessories aimed at Volvo owners with an active lifestyle. Part of the available packages include frame-mounted bicycle holders, load carriers, bumper dirt covers and load compartment mats. Price for these individual accessories ranges between RM199 to RM5,050.
Volvo Life Paint is priced at RM110 inclusive of 6% GST and will be available for order at any authorised Volvo dealers nationwide, beginning mid-May 2016. Customers ordering via Volvo’s authorised dealer, Clear Marque Sdn Bhd will be amongst the very first customers to receive their Volvo Life Paint.
