During the recent Volkswagen Group Malaysia luncheon, they teased the media a new Volkswagen Jetta variant called Limited Edition, that will be launched very soon. We dropped by a nearby VW outlet to check it out.

Slated to be launched in early May, the new Volkswagen Jetta Limited Edition sports a new set of bodykit, which includes a front skirt, side skirts, rear skirt and a bootlid spoiler. Apart from the original Volkswagen bodykit, the new Jetta Limited Edition will also get a new set of 17-inch Silex alloy wheels. The new rims have Goodyear Assurance TripleMax rubbers all round, and are measured at 225/45/17. Infotainment is said to be taken care of by a new Blaupunkt system. Apart from the cosmetic upgrades, the new Jetta Limited Edition sports no mechanical difference from the regular Jetta 1.4 TSI. We reviewed the Volkswagen Jetta 1.4 TSI here.

Apart from the new Jetta variant, we also came across the yet-to-be-launched Volkswagen Polo facelift. The Volkswagen Polo facelift was teased by Volkswagen Malaysia back in March 2015, and has gone quiet since. From what we gathered, the Polo facelift is also set to be launched very soon. Those who booked the earlier CKD Volkswagen Polo would actually be receiving the facelifted model, according to the sales consultant that we spoke to.

On the new VW Polo facelift, the front fascia has been revised quite a lot. For starters, the bottom half of the front bumper has been revised with a larger grille opening an revised front foglights. Besides that, the front grille is now almost all black, save for a single chrome trim at the bottom. Good news for those didn’t fancy the headlights on the CKD model back then, as the facelifted Polo now has the headlights changed back to the black-face ones.

Moving to the rear, the biggest change on the Polo facelift is the revised rear bumper, with the inclusion of a pair of reflectors at the bottom of the rear bumper. The recess around the rear number plate is also larger than the pre-facelift model. Sharp-eyed readers would have also noticed the revised rear tail lamps.2015_VW_Volkswagen_polo_facelift (3)

Moving inside, the facelifted Volkswagen Polo gets a new interior trim. The previously-black surround has been replaced with a new silver trim, while the steering wheel is also new. The steering wheels, while maintaining the audio controls on the left, now has the ability to navigate through the multi-function display. Owners can also answer calls via the steering mounted control. Seat material remains as fabric, but now with a new pattern.
