Kawasaki Road Safety Campaign 2016 aimed to reduce road accidents

Kawasaki Motors Malaysia, together with the Ministry of Transportation, Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association, AEON Credit Services Malaysia and KHI Helmets officiated the 2016 Road Safety Campaign in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations.

YM Raja Dato’ Hanipuddin bin Raja Dato’ Nong Chik, Executive Chairman of Kawasaki Motors Malaysia said that the main cause of accidents are recklessness, tiredness, loss of control or driving and riding dangerously. Furthermore, by keeping one’s vehicle in tip-top condition, coupled with regular servicing can help reduce accident rates.

Also present at the event was the Minister of Transport YB Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Chairman of Malaysia Motorcycle & Scooter Dealers Association Mr Wee Hong, Director of Kawasaki Motors Malaysia Encik Ahmad Faez Tan Sri Yahaya, Executive Director of AEON Credit Service Malaysia Kenji Fujita and Director of KHI Helmets Lee Swee Chang.

This corporate social responsibility programme is aimed to encourage safer riding amongst motorcyclists. He is confident that the campaign is capable of reducing the accident rates in the country, especially during the festive season.

The primary focus for today’s campaign is the 16-point checkup for all motorcycle makes and models. The checkup will be conducted by trained Kawasaki technicians. Government bodies like JKJR, MIROS, JPJ and PDRM also had their own booth for educating riders.

The next Road Safety Campaign will be held in Malacca on the 4th of February 2016.
