BMW M’sia provides a fleet of BMW vehicles for the CIMB Classic 2014

In continuing to be the automotive partner of the CIMB Classic for the 5th year, BMW Group Malaysia recently hand over the keys to a fleet of BMW 5 Series, BMW X3 and BMW X1 vehicles to be utilised as the official cars at the upcoming CIMB Classic 2014.

The fleet of BMW 5 Series, BMW X3 and BMW X1 vehicles will be utilised for the shuttling of all players, officials, as well as VIPs who will be in Malaysia throughout the tournament. BMW Group Malaysia will also be sponsoring the Hole-In-One prize in the form of the all-new BMW X5 xDrive 30d.

Present at the hand-over ceremony, Mr. Alan Harris, Managing Director, BMW Group Malaysia said, “BMW has had a long history and commitment of being involved in the sport of Golf. The sport serves as one of three main sporting initiatives that we are committed to worldwide which also includes motorsports and sailing. Our commitment in the sport of Golf is at every level, from the premium amateur level events in the likes of our BMW Golf Cup International program which is the largest and most prestigious amateur golf competition in the world to competitions like the CIMB Classic, the first PGA TOUR-sanctioned event in South East Asia and the only official FedExCup event in South East Asia.”

The CIMB Classic 2014 which will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) from 30th October to 2nd November 2014 will feature 78 of the best golf players in the world comprising of 60 players from the PGA TOUR, 10 from the Asian Tour and 8 Sponsor’s exemptions.

Leading the line-up of world class players is world no.3 Sergio Garcia, who is joined by 2014 FedExCup champion Billy Horschel, as well as Asia’s leading golfers Hideki Matsuyama and Ryo Ishikawa and 2014 Malaysian Open Champion Lee Westwood. Defending champion Ryan Moore will also return to KLGCC to defend his 2013 CIMB Classic title, competing once again with a stellar line-up of players for a US$7 million (RM22.9 million) prize purse, Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), Ryder Cup points and official FedExCup points.
