‘The Road To Accident-Free Driving” by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is an insight into Daimler’s commitment to providing drivers a comprehensive protection strategy in all situations.

There are 3-pillar strategy that covers vehicular features which combat driver stress and actively master difficult situations with the vehicle. The third pillar involves key education activities, which maximises road safety for all users, children included.

Daimler has pioneered vehicle safety innovations since 1931. Since then, Daimler has continued to be passionate about pursuing excellence in vehicle safety with several advancements over the years. In 1995, the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) was introduced, representing one of the most revolutionary safety features invented.

Daimler and Safety…

Daimler did not stop at the ESP. In 2002, its preventive occupant system; Pre-Safe started a new ‘era’ of vehicle safety. With previous innovations minimising impacts of accidents, Daimler’s Pre-Safe system was designed to be anticipatory in nature. Pre-Safe focuses on preventing accidents.

Daimler’s vision for safety was accomplished with the S500 Intelligent Drive. As the pinnacle in technological innovation and automotive safety, the launch of the S500 Intelligent Drive in 2013 represented a landmark for Daimler. With a combination of sensors and systems, Daimler has set the standard with this milestone.

Today, Daimler continues to expand its influence in safety, making headway in vehicular innovation and spreading the message to children. Under Daimler’s “The Road To Accident-Free Driving” banner and vision of keeping drivers and road users safe, ‘MobileKids’ was developed in 2001. Aimed at children ages 3 to 10, ‘MobileKids’ engages both children and youth using age-appropriate and fun methods incorporating real-life road situations.

MBM carries on the tradition…

In tandem with its long-term and sustainable corporate social responsibility programme, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia was the 3rd country to adopt ‘MobileKids’ in 2006. This year, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, as part of the ‘MobileKids’ 2014 campaign, is a sponsor of Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus – a PJLive Arts play teaching children about the importance of road safety.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s ‘MobileKids’ 2014 campaign is currently parked at Bangsar Village II shopping centre. The road show will also be available at two other locations later in the year. To learn more about Daimler’s ‘MobileKids’ worldwide initiative, click here.
